Relationships should be based on honesty, but some people have an incredibly absurd idea of forming a relationship with "lies".
A two-faced guy asked 2 girls to go out with him at the same time. He promised one to trust his words that the other was just his friend. "She's my best friend, friend, and nothing but friend". "Stop being so skeptical", he said.
But finally the truth reveal itself. The girl found out that he had been playing all along. He approached 2 of them with the same method, actually asking both of them out one week after another.
When she found out, she wanted to deny. She didn't want to believe that it was true, that he would and could fool her, but there was an evidence she witnessed herself.
There were waves of frustration, countless talks and phone calls with her girls, a boiling anger, a stabbing pain, a sense of betrayal, a feeling of her being stupid enough to believe him, all followed by a thousand different kinds of swear words she could think of dedicated to the asshole.
And she thought of a revenge. Of course, she could do it. She knew his one weakness to use against him, and all the proofs were in her hand. But after re-considering it over and over again, she decided not to because there was no need to depreciate herself doing something that wasn't worth a human being - just like he did.
Just when she started putting a distance between them, he noticed the difference and tried to take her back with his poisonous sweet words, but she didn't cooperate this time. Being such a loser he was, he couldn't take it, so he started talking about her behind her back.
This came from the guy who once said he loved and wanted nothing but the best for her.
Go figure!
Who would deserve the best liar award more than him?
But she already made a decision that never again she would let such asshole bring her down. She cut him completely out of her life. She turned him into a stranger, or even worse, something that wasn't worth to glance at.
Today, looking back, she wanted to laugh. Laugh at her stupidity. Laugh at the sincerity she once offered him when they were friends. Laugh at all the good times they once had because it had never been "real". She realized she was lucky enough that she discovered the truth before taking another step in their relationship.
In the end, it didn't matter much anymore. If it hadn't been for all that he tried to do, she wouldn't have known how capable she was to pull through.
So she wanted to say thank you. Thanks for making her stronger.
(Though she constantly wanted to puke when they happened to come across and had the urge to at least scratch or ever better smash his car into pieces every time she passed by).
Lessons learned.
Once again, she realized, time heals all wounds.
